The purpose of this study is to examine Self-Esteem of Professional Football Players in terms of some variable. Causal comparative method and Correlational method were used in research. 780 Professional Football players from 41 professional football club who play at Spor Toto Premiere League, Bank Asya First League, Spor Toto Second League and Spor Toto Third League, were determined randomly. Players were conducted Demographical Information Form, and short form of Coopersmith Self-Esteem which consist of 25 item. Demographical variables are age, place of birth, marital status, education level, Total Professional playing duration, position, Annual income, and League Category which they play. Self-Esteem inventory which was developed by Stanley CooperSmith (1967) and adopted to Turkish by Tufan and Turan (1987) were conducted to players. At the end of the analysis according to “Age”, “Marital Status”, “Total Playing Durations”, “Annual income” and “League Category” variables, it was determined that, there is a significant difference in self-esteem scores between groups. It was determined that there were no significant difference between groups according to “Education Level”, “Position” and “Place of Birth” variables. As a result, it can be suggested that self-esteem and demographical variables of Professional football players become significantly different and there are many significant relationship.
